Academics

Upper School

Welcome to the Upper School at Trevor.

Our innovative academic program offers a dynamic and engaging learning community centered on inquiry-based teaching and learning, small class sizes, and an unwavering commitment to collaboration and inclusivity.
Our students learn to appreciate the value of different viewpoints, embrace diversity and multiculturalism, and collectively tackle complex challenges. On a daily basis, our educators serve as experts, mentors, facilitators, advisors, and most importantly, learners alongside our students, providing constant and individualized support and guidance through students’ academic journeys.

The structure of Trevor’s academic program cultivates students who become lifelong learners who seek knowledge beyond the classroom walls. Ninth- and 10th-grade courses are foundational by design, leading to the opportunity to choose among a wide range of advanced courses and electives in each field of study in 11th and 12th grades. Within our robust course of study, our passionate faculty and staff encourage Trevor students to ask thought-provoking questions, explore diverse perspectives, and actively participate in their own learning process through collaborative projects, interdisciplinary activities, and real-world explorations.

From the very first moment I stepped on campus, it was clear that Trevor students set themselves apart through their passion for learning, their resilience and openness to explore the unknown and the unconventional, and their compassion for others.
The complement to our academic program is our robust co-curricular program, which offers a wide range of opportunities for students to explore their passions, develop leadership skills, and engage with local and global communities. From sports teams to performing arts, clubs, service initiatives, and global travel, the heart of our co-curricular program aims to empower students of all backgrounds and interests to form new friendships, exercise their passions, and create bonds that last a lifetime.

From the very first moment I stepped on campus, it was clear that Trevor students set themselves apart through their passion for learning, their resilience and openness to explore the unknown and the unconventional, and their compassion for others. I see all these qualities and much more beaming from our students as I see them in the classroom and in the cafeteria–and even in our unique common spaces and our outdoor learning spaces.

I invite all of us–students, faculty, staff, families, and our leadership team–to co-create this vibrant learning environment with endless opportunities for self-discovery, intellectual growth, and empowerment together. And with that, my hope is that together we will bear witness to all the incredible things our Trevor students will achieve.
